The United Arab Emirates, represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), held a round of Air Services Consultations with the Civil Aviation Authority of the People’s Republic of China (CAAC) on 16th and 17th July in Beijing.
The aim was to boost air connectivity and improve bilateral ties between the two countries in the field of aviation. GCAA Director-General Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi led the UAE delegation.
Following negotiations, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to improve air connectivity between the airports in China and the United Arab Emirates, the report said.
Furthermore, the parties committed to increasing cooperation and collaboration within the civil aviation domain and undertaking initiatives aimed at building bilateral relationships within the aviation industry.
The Director-General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, emphasized the authority’s commitment to boosting air transport services, strengthening its global reach, and expanding air connectivity for the benefit of national airlines operating in the United Arab Emirates.
He lauded the agreements made during the talks and foresaw a significant improvement in the economic areas of shared interest.
He emphasized the necessity for both countries to collaborate and share expertise in the areas of aviation security, safety, air travel, the aviation industry, and investments in the aviation sector.
The first Air Connectivity Forum between the two nations, which took place on July 15, he continued, was crucial to securing favorable results in the dialogues. He also emphasized the significance to frequently organize such meetings in order to promote and enhance the two nations’ trade and economic ties.
