Saudia incorporates new Airbus A321neo aircraft into its fleet

Saudia is expanding its fleet with a new Airbus A321neo under the slogan “A neo-way of flying” which belongs to the narrow-body A320 family, known for its exceptional performance and the capacity to accommodate 180 to 220 passengers in a typical two-class interior layout.

The primary reason behind acquiring these aircraft lies in their remarkable fuel efficiency. Since the global introduction of the A320neo in 2016, the A320 family has collectively saved 20 million tons of CO2. The A320neo’s incorporation of Sharklets, fuel-efficient engines, and advanced cabin innovations has resulted in a 20 percent reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, a 50 percent decrease in noise footprint, a 5 percent reduction in airframe maintenance costs, and a 14 percent decrease in cash operating costs per seat compared to previous generation aircraft.

Captain Ibrahim Koshy, Saudia’s CEO, expressed excitement about expanding their fleet with the new Airbus A321neo aircraft. The airline’s utmost priority is to offer the best guest experience and facilitate travel to Saudi Arabia. To achieve this goal, Saudia will continue acquiring state-of-the-art aircraft from top manufacturers, ensuring a commitment to delivering an exceptional travel experience.

Koshy also commended Airbus for their continuous efforts to enhance aircraft performance, aligning perfectly with Saudia’s vision to provide the best guest experience while contributing to the sustainable development of aviation.
