Passengers Advised to Check Flight Status Amid Disruptions
As tensions between Iran and Israel intensify, UAE airlines including Etihad Airways, Emirates, flydubai, and others are adjusting their flight schedules and routes. The airlines are avoiding Iranian airspace and rerouting flights, primarily via Saudi Arabia and Egypt, impacting travel to Europe and the United States.
Both Etihad Airways and Emirates have advised passengers to check their flight status online. Etihad cancelled services to Tel Aviv, Israel, and Amman, Jordan, on Sunday, 14 April, citing airspace closure in the region. Affected flights include EY593 and EY594 between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv, as well as EY513 and EY514 between Abu Dhabi and Amman. The airline is assisting affected passengers with their travel arrangements. Emirates has also cancelled and rerouted several flights due to the recent airspace closures. Flydubai and Wizz Air Abu Dhabi have similarly cancelled or adjusted their flight schedules and are in direct contact with affected passengers.
Impact on Indian Carriers:
Indian airlines, including Air India, Vistara, and Indigo, have altered flight paths for Europe and the Middle East, avoiding Iranian airspace following the Indian government’s advisory. The airlines are taking longer routes to ensure passenger safety and operational stability amidst the escalating tensions.
