The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation and Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency have formalized their cooperation in the field of civil aviation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during a conference held in Rio de Janeiro. The primary focus of the conference was to highlight investment opportunities within the aviation sector. Both countries have committed to enhancing cooperation with the goal of exchanging knowledge and improving the overall passenger experience in air travel, among other objectives.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this partnership aligns with the objectives of the National Aviation Strategy, which aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global aviation hub. Through this collaboration, Brazil is expected to provide expertise in various areas of the Saudi aviation sector, particularly in infrastructure projects.

The SPA also noted that by participating in this event, Saudi Arabia aims to showcase its global leadership in the aviation field and its willingness to expand and strengthen ties with Brazil.

The MoU encompasses various aspects of cooperation, including the exchange of information such as reports, service quality indicators, and passenger satisfaction surveys related to aviation practices adopted in both Brazil and Saudi Arabia. It also covers the sharing of information on standardized procedures for passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility, as well as the organization of training courses and workshops geared towards enhancing the passenger experience. The implementation of the MoU will be carried out in accordance with the laws and regulations of both countries.

Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), who was present at the conference’s opening ceremony, emphasized the importance of building relationships based on trust and hard work. He noted that despite the geographical distance between Saudi Arabia and Brazil, the two nations have a long history of cooperation and partnerships across various fields.

Saudi Arabia is actively investing in its aviation sector as part of its broader plan to boost tourism by 2030, with the ambitious goal of serving 330 million passengers by the end of the decade.
