Laying the groundwork for a strategic partnership strengthening connectivity and driving future growth, Riyadh Air and Delta Air Lines have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand route options between North America, Saudi Arabia and onward destinations.
The new agreement, signed at Delta’s World Headquarters in Atlanta, would include a non-stop service on Delta between the US and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Currently, no other US airline offers non-stop flights to Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, this long-term relationship will include codeshare and interline connectivity, along with a partnership that encompasses loyalty programs and broader aviation services including maintenance, repairs and training.
“This partnership with Riyadh Air will further Delta’s mission of connecting the world and open an array of new choices, benefits and destinations for our customers traveling to and from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian said.
The new partnership comes as large-scale, ongoing investments in the Kingdom are transforming it into a popular and attractive destination for both leisure and business travelers.
Riyadh Air, owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, has entered similar partnerships with airlines across several regions to boost global ties ahead of its market debut in 2025.
Travel is central to the nation’s long-term economic growth plan, with an $800 billion investment in the tourism sector that includes development of luxury resorts on the Red Sea, the opening of the Diriyah and al-Ula historical site to visitors, and the hosting of the 2030 Riyadh Expo.
