Lufthansa Adds New Winter Destinations

The German national carrier, Lufthansa, declared on April 27 that it would be adding additional winter long-haul destinations.

The specifics around Lufthansa’s most recent announcement to add some new winter long-haul destinations using both their Airbus A380s and A350s will be covered in this article.

As part of a significant capacity boost for its Munich winter schedule offering, Lufthansa will resume operating its Airbus A380s on its Munich to Los Angeles service as of October 5, 2023.

Daily operations of the A380’s Los Angeles flight are planned.

Additionally, just as the winter travel period is about to start, Lufthansa will start operating A380 flights from Munich to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The commencement date for this is October 28.

Compared to how the airline typically operates its Airbus A350s on this popular route, the A380 operations alone offer a 75% boost in capacity per flight.

In addition to starting new Airbus A380 flights out of Munich, Lufthansa will also be expanding its service to India out of both Frankfurt and Munich.

In addition to its current services from Munich to Delhi and Mumbai, the German airline will first run a new service between Munich and Bangalore.

Their Airbus A350s will run the Bangalore route three times per week, with flight LH764 departing at 12:10 p.m. local time on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

As part of this most recent announcement, Lufthansa will also resume service from Frankfurt to Hyderabad, using Airbus A350 aircraft as well.
