Bombardier broadens Smart Services with cost-per-hour offering

Bombardier has expanded its suite of cost-per-flight-hour services by introducing a new tier of its Smart Services program, which now includes coverage for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance costs related to major aircraft components like aircraft systems and landing gear overhaul. This new offering, known as Smart Services Elite, provides a comprehensive package that encompasses parts shipping, technical publications, technical support, a guaranteed flight-hour rate for the duration of the contract, and the inclusion of a mobile response team (MRT) for support. Smart Services Elite also integrates certain maintenance options from previous cost-per-flight-hour programs, making it Bombardier’s most all-encompassing maintenance cost coverage program.

One notable feature of this program, as highlighted by Bombardier, is its resilience to inflation due to its fixed yearly rate, which offers a predictable and stable cost structure for customers. For new aircraft owners, the option to include Smart Services Elite can be chosen at the time of purchase, streamlining the ownership process.

According to Bombardier, over 1,600 Bombardier aircraft have been enrolled in Smart Services programs, accounting for more than 10 million flight hours, demonstrating its popularity among aircraft operators.

Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President of Aftermarket Services and Strategy at Bombardier, described Smart Services Elite as the ultimate solution for business jet customers seeking budget predictability and comprehensive maintenance support. This program offers additional services not covered by existing cost-per-flight-hour offerings, providing customers with a comprehensive solution for their maintenance, repair, and support needs.
