Queen Alia International Airport witness robust passenger traffic in February

Airport International Group, the Jordan-based company tasked with overseeing the development and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (AMM), has reported a notable increase in passenger traffic for February 2024.

During February, AMM welcomed a total of 676,355 passengers, marking a significant rise of 4.5% compared to figures from 2023. Additionally, the airport facilitated 5,396 aircraft movements and handled 6,571 tons of cargo. While there was a marginal 0.1% decrease in aircraft movements, there was a substantial 46.8% surge in cargo volume compared to the same period last year.

In terms of year-to-date statistics, AMM has observed a steady increase in passenger numbers, with a 3.6% uptick totaling 1,371,859 passengers compared to the corresponding period in 2023. Furthermore, the airport recorded 11,163 aircraft movements and managed 12,978 tons of cargo, indicating a slight 2.3% decline in aircraft movements but a significant 40.5% increase in cargo compared to the same period last year.

Nicolas Deviller, CEO of Airport International Group, expressed optimism about the consistent growth in passenger and cargo figures. He emphasized the company’s commitment to working closely with industry partners to expand travel options through Queen Alia International Airport.
