Qatar Airways introduces Sama 2.0, the world’s pioneering human-like AI cabin crew, set to debut at the Dubai World Trade Centre annual exhibition from May 6 to 9, 2024. Attendees can interact with Sama 2.0 at the Qatar Airways pavilion in Hall No.2.
Sama 2.0 is designed to offer real-time assistance, aid travelers in crafting personalized travel experiences, and address customer inquiries. Customers of Qatar Airways can virtually engage with Sama 2.0 through the airline’s immersive digital platform, QVerse, or its dedicated app.
This innovative holographic virtual cabin crew was initially unveiled at ITB Berlin in March 2024. The development follows the global attention garnered by Sophia, the humanoid robot, notably granted citizenship by Saudi Arabia in 2017.
In addition to this technological advancement, Qatar Airways recently appointed Badr Mohammed Al-Meer as the group CEO, succeeding long-time CEO Akbar Al Baker. Al-Meer expressed the airline’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience, including the introduction of a newly-designed First Class cabin, blending elements of commercial and executive jet travel. The cabin’s final touches are being refined, with an imminent announcement expected.
