Lilium and Atlantic Aviation join to electrify regional air mobility across the USA

Lilium, the developer of an all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) jet, has joined forces with Atlantic Aviation, a prominent fixed-based operation (FBO) and aviation services provider. Together, they aim to prepare Atlantic’s extensive network of over 100 FBOs for the upcoming launch of Lilium Jet’s regional air mobility service in the United States.

Sponsored by Air BP, this strategic partnership focuses on ensuring seamless integration between the Lilium Jet and Atlantic’s network of aviation assets across North America. This collaboration is particularly significant as Atlantic operates sites at more than 30 airports within Lilium’s planned launch markets, including Florida, Southern California, the Northeast corridor, and Texas.

The joint efforts of Lilium and Atlantic will concentrate on infrastructure deployment and operational enhancements to enhance the passenger experience at existing and future sites. Strategic planning will encompass various crucial factors such as aircraft flight paths, charging infrastructure, passenger amenities, operational forecasts, and more.

By taking this comprehensive approach, Lilium and Atlantic aim to provide Lilium Jet operators with strategic access points within Atlantic’s network of aviation facilities, ultimately optimizing the passenger experience and advancing the realm of air travel.

Sebastien Borel, Lilium’s chief commercial officer, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, “Our collaboration with Atlantic Aviation marks a pivotal step in realizing our vision for sustainable and accessible high-speed regional travel in the U.S.”

John Redcay, chief commercial and sustainability officer at Atlantic, echoed this sentiment, expressing Atlantic’s dedication to supporting Lilium’s vision and highlighting their commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure for the regional air mobility service.

Lilium’s commercialization strategy involves manufacturing and selling the Lilium Jet to various individuals and companies for private, premium, and shuttle operations, with subsequent aftermarket support and services.

The strategic collaboration between Lilium and Atlantic is poised to facilitate a seamless entry into service for the Lilium Jet, heralding a new era of regional air transportation that promises to connect cities and save passengers significant travel time.
