ExecuJet To Launch Dubai OMDW FBO This Year

In the second half of this year, ExecuJet Middle East, a division of the Luxaviation Group, plans to open a new FBO at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport (OMDW).

“We are going with the beginning of the fourth quarter at the very latest,”said Dumani Ndebele, regional FBO director.

The building will have a presidential suite, a spa, and 6,000 square meters of hangar space for parking aircraft. Two-thirds of the property, or roughly 16,000 sq m of hangar space, will be operated by ExecuJet MRO, a division of Dassault Aviation, particularly for business jets made by Dassault, Bombardier, and Embraer.

“We will have a soft FBO opening because the hangar will be ready in June,” Ndebele added. “We will actually begin operations whilst we are finishing off the interior of the FBO, and then get it started as soon as possible. The official opening will be during the [Dubai] Airshow [in November].”

The MRO division of ExecuJet was acquired by Dassault in 2019.ExecuJet now runs two FBOs in the United Arab Emirates, one at Dubai International Airport (OMDB) and the other at the temporary location at OMDW that it took over in 2016 while waiting for the new facility to open.

Given the allure and ease of the new facility, Ndebele predicted that the 60/40 percent movements split between the ExecuJet FBOs at OMDB and OMDW will change to 40/60 percent once the new FBO is fully operating.

A Global 6000 and a Lineage 1000 from ExecuJet’s fleet, which is handled in Dubai, are available for charter.
