Paul Griffiths, the CEO of Dubai Airports, delivered a keynote address at the Global Leaders’ Forum (GALF), held as part of the 23rd edition of Airport Show in Dubai. Griffiths highlighted the monumental leap represented by the expansion project, which involves a substantial investment of AED 128 billion. He emphasized that this endeavor is not merely about constructing another airport but about shaping the future of air travel and reimagining the airport experience. The CEO expressed Dubai’s commitment to providing world-class infrastructure and experiences to its diverse and rapidly growing number of guests.

The expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport is expected to unlock new opportunities for travel, tourism, logistics, and trade globally. Griffiths expressed excitement about collaborating with partners and stakeholders on this transformative journey, ensuring that Dubai remains at the forefront of the aviation industry. Griffiths also addressed the importance of sustainability in aviation, acknowledging the challenges posed by the growth of the industry and the limited availability of sustainable aviation fuel. Regarding future innovations, Griffiths speculated about the possibility of autonomous vehicles both in the air and on the ground, potentially revolutionizing transportation methods. He underscored the importance of sustainability and convenience as drivers of technological change in the aviation industry.
